The Make-Over kaBreadwinner: Suzuki Swift Minor upgrades.
In its 3rd generation now, with over 7.5million units finding homes around the world, the Swift is a dynamite within the Japanese Brand, with 16 000 units sold in 2020 despite the pandemic it really is a winner for the brand on local shores, thus making it I”Breadwinner” . They reached a milestone since returning to South Africa by selling their 100 000th unit as a brand and that unit was incidentally a Suzuki Swift. Congratulations Suzuki SA.
The current generation was launched here in 2018, so it was due for an upgrade, the shape does not change, however more additional features which add value to a great product. 1st thing we note on the exterior is the refreshed grille with mesh and a chrome insert right across , new alloys wheels for the higher derivatives, wheels covers for the entry level GA, and 2 tone paint job as an option in a stunning selection pallete.
On the interior the higher derivatives receive a 7” touch screen radio with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, a high res reversing camera, Hill Hold to Auto models and Electronic stability programme across all models.
Engines remain the same as they are quite sweet with 61kw of power from the trusted and proven 1.2L 4 cylinder normally aspirated engine, which is still an impressive fuel consumer especially in times when the price of fuel just keep rising.
I keep asking myself why Suzuki names this upgrade “Minor Changes” ? When looking at all the cars that were at the launch hosted at the stunning upmarket Riboville Boutique hotel, I realize they made a cute winner that’s much more good looking and safer, I mean how do you beat a good looking “BreadWinner” !!!!
